Growers worried about their corn crop

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - Some growers across Missouri are worried about their yellow corn crop.

Univeristy of Missouri Extension Office Agronomy Field Specialist Wayne Flanary told KXCV/KRNW that the sunny days earlier this week helped put many growers' minds at ease.

Flanary says the high amounts of rainfall that came through the state in the middle part of the week could force growers into using supplemental nitrogen if the rain continues.

He adds that healthy corn crops should be dark green and nitrogen-rich.
